Neuse River Chapter

RMEF believes everyone should have the opportunity to learn how to hunt, fish, shoot a bow, and learn other outdoor skills. Case in point: for nine years running, RMEF North Carolina Chapters have co-sponsored the Talking Trees Children’s Trout Derby in Cherokee. Dozens of RMEF volunteers have turned out for the event to make sure every participant enjoys the day. In 2011, more than 1,900 kids along with their parents and guardians took part in the event.

You are cordially invited to come celebrate the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation’s six millionth acre conserved in the company of the finest hunter-conservationists anywhere, the members of the RMEF, at the Neuse River Chapter's 7th banquet Saturday, February 11th, 2012.

There are at least six million reasons to join us. On top of helping the Elk Foundation toward the next million acres, scores of banquet attendees will go home with brand new rifles, big game hunts, and countless other raffle and auction prizes while raising vital funding for America’s foremost conservation organization, the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.

If you’ve never been before, don’t miss out. RMEF big game banquets are legendary for their high-energy camaraderie. You will see old friends and make new ones, enjoy fine food and drinks, and help the Elk Foundation get well on its way to conserving another million acres. This year's fundraiser is on Saturday, February 11th, 2012 at Swansboro Rotary Club. Doors open at 6:00 PM. During the social hour you'll enjoy drawings, raffles, games, and silent auction. Dinner and live auction will follow. If you are not able to attend please consider passing this on to a fellow conservationist.

Win a hunt, Maxxis bow, or Browning rifle
Become or recruit a new volunteer for RMEF and gain the opportunity to win one of 8 outfitted 5-day whitetail deer and waterfowl combo hunts in Northern Missouri’s legendary big-buck country. But that’s not all that is up for grabs. The drawing will also include 6 Hoyt Maxxis 31 bows and 6 Browning X-bolt Carbon Fiber .338 rifles. With 20 prizes, we have now given you 20 more outstanding reasons to become or recruit a new volunteer with RMEF. For details contact a local committee member, Regional Director or go to RMEF.org

Knife Made in the USA Buck PakLite Membership Premium
Don't forget, with every membership you purchase to come to our fundraiser you will receive this awesome Buck PakLite Skinner with carbon steel RMEF logo'd blade and heavy-duty nylon sheath. FREE!

If you’re all about wildlife and wild places, you’ll love what the Elk Foundation has accomplished in North Carolina. Local banquets provide the majority of Elk Foundation conservation dollars, which RMEF is able to leverage by a lofty 9 to 1 ratio through matching partner funds. RMEF North Carolina chapters helped fund an experimental program to reintroduce elk to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park’s Cataloochee
Valley starting in 2001. The Park is now transitioning to a long-term elk management program. RMEF North Carolina chapters also fund and help orchestrate hunting heritage and conservation activities that introduce young people and women to the outdoors, promote hunter safety and responsibility, provide physically challenged individuals with a hunting experience, and involve youth in conservation including: S.A.F.E. (Shooting Access for Everyone) events, 4-H Shooting Sports, Becoming an Outdoors-Woman, and National Archery in the Schools programs. All told, the Elk Foundation and our partners have completed 40 projects in North Carolina with a combined value of more than $2.1 million.

The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation now has upwards of 180,000 members and growing. RMEF is awfully proud of the more than 632,000 acres of previously off-limits land it’s opened to public hunting, and prouder still of the six million acres of great elk country people like you have helped conserve. But 180,000 members is barely 10 percent of the active elk hunters in North America. Imagine what we could accomplish with 300,000 or even half-a-million members? Help us get there by inviting a friend to have a good time for a great cause.
Yours in Conservation,

Tim Parker
